Inner Peace Award / Sunshine Award

Ze blogge was recently nominated for the Inner Peace and Sunshine Awards by the marvelous, talented, sweet-beyond-belief Autore of awriterssong. She posts all sorts of awesome poetry and Camp NaNo excerpts and such on her blog, so make sure to go read some of her stuff! Thanks for the nominations, Autore!

Seven Things About Me:

1. I am 5’2″ and proud of it.

2. My hair is naturally this weird blondish-brownish color (it’s like dishwater blond sans-the-blond), but I recently dyed it auburn, and I’m hoping to try out some other colors in the future.

3. I’m going to be beginning my sophomore year of college at the University of Michigan this fall.

4. I am terrified, TERRIFIED of dolls. (There was this movie when I was in elementary school, in which this kid got involved with some Bad Magical Creatures and this doll came to life and was slowly taking over the body of his annoying teacher or something AND OH MY GOSH IT TERRIFIED ME TO NO END, and I’ve been scared of dolls ever since. Like you could not pay me enough to be alone in a room with one.)

5. I wanted to be a veterinarian, just doing writing on the side, up until the eighth grade. At which point I had to job shadow a vet for class, and I decided writing full-time instead looked like fun. (That job shadow is also why I became a vegetarian. I’ll let you ruminate on that one.)

6. I love the smell of coffee, but making me drink it could be a torture method.

7. I once played Eddie in a production of The Yellow Boat. Eddie is a little boy. This involved me cutting all my hair off.

I currently look like this:

At the time I looked like this:

AKA: Short hair (at least that short) does not work on me.

  1. “6. I love the smell of coffee, but making me drink it could be a torture method.”
Coffee is life! xD Well, at least in my work I have to drink a lot.

  2. Hahaha I’m 5’2, too! And I prefer stuffed animals to dolls, though I went through a period in which I became obsessed with Barbies–I even have a Ken doll x.x Thanks so much for the nomination!! Been writing the WIP and haven’t blogged much lately, so this will be good for me 🙂

    • Twins! 😉 I never really got into Barbies, but I was OBSESSED with the Fisher-Price dollhouse brand when I was little. I used to get all the Barbie stuff (airplane, cars, etc) and use it with my Fisher-Price dolls instead.

Ooh, what’s your WIP about? (I feel like I should know this, but I can’t remember. So I apologize if I should.) Can’t wait to read your post!

  3. i find china dolls creepy too and this weekend i had to sell them at my churche’s fair, it was not ideal. also i dislike the taste of coffee but it can smell delicious at times so i know where you’re coming form. wow we are so alike.
i think you look cute with short hair but that is judging by one picture while you get to base your opinion off of years of personal experiance and mirrors every morning.
    congrats on the nomination

    • Gahhh, I think I would have died if that happened to me! I am yet to find an inanimate object that’s creepier than dolls. You brave soul!

Yeah, a lot of people have commented now that my hair wasn’t that bad that short, but I still just really dislike it. I actually adored having it a little bit longer than the length I kept for the play, though, and I wore it between chin and shoulder length for the next couple of years afterward (considering going back to that length now, only I’d miss being able to do braids and ponytails too much).

      • that is too funny i had long hair and cut it to shoulder leangth (for locks of love) a few weeks ago because it was so hot and although i love it there have been a few times when i wanted a braid. the great thing is it’s just hair and it grows back.

  5. Eek! Thanks so much for the nomination! 😀
Also, I used to collect china dolls and teddy bears. So in my room at home, one whole wall is covered with shelves of teddy bears, and the opposite wall is covered in shelves of china dolls. Most of my friends hate hanging out in my room because “there’s so many eyes watching me!!!” hahaha!

    • No prob! And THAT IS CREEPY! Like my aunt gave me a China doll once and I was like, “Nope. Nope nope nope. Don’t let that thing near me.”

Teddy bears, on the other hand, I have absolutely no problem with. 🙂

    • THANK YOU. (My sisters and I collect both teddy bears and porcelain/china dolls and we used to keep them in our room.) Apparently, after watching a doll-themed episode of a horror show, my brother was so creeped out he asked my sister how she could sleep in there anymore. The good news was HE didn’t come barging in for a long while.
